the inspiration behind the print
BY RAEGAN MOYA-JONES, CEO + CO-FOUNDER OF ADEN + ANAIS
Liam is a little boy who was battling cancer. One of the only things that comforted him during his fight was his aden + anais blanket. But Liam was in protective isolation, so his mother constantly had to buy new blankets so that they were sanitary enough for Liam to snuggle with them. Liam's mum finally called our customer service team to see if she could get a bulk discount. When I got wind of her request, I sent her a bunch of blankets, and she reached out to me to thank me.
It never ceases to amaze me that these mothers going through the unimaginable manage to find time to write me a thank you. I always tell them, "You mums are extraordinary. I would be curled up in the fetal position if I was going through what you are." I am both humbled by and in awe of all of them. They all respond by saying that the comfort they see their babies getting from the blankets during such a horrible time in their lives prompts them to send the note to say thank you.
I stayed in touch with Liam's mum and his story is a happy one, as he is a survivor. He was such an incredible fighter, that I named this print after him: Liam the Brave
